Kahlil Gibran was a Lebanese American artist, poet and writer. He was born in Lebanon and later migrated to the United States. According to wikipedia, He is the third bestselling poet in history after Shakespeare and Lao Tse.
He came from a very poor family and, Gibran did not receive any formal schooling during his youth in Lebanon. His education was mostly from priests who taught him about the Bible.
