i am 37 and have been in the army for 13 years. i have a wife and son back home that i see maybe once a month. yeah it is a hard life, but i life that i chose. i value my freedom and that of my family and friends, and by the way JEFF!!! i have buried quite a few friends along the way. i am in the Infantry, multiply tours to iraq. i have also been wounded. so go ahead and say that it is a waste of time, i along with a lot of others give you that right. and to all you other HEROS, may god bless you all, no matter what allied nation you are from… thanks shane!!!

I’m 17 an currently in the army. Me and my best friend miguel join about the same time. We are still in high school but that doesn’t affect us. We both are give up our summer to go to west virgina to go to bootcamp. We don’t really care what anyone has to say about it in school, all we know is that’s are furture an we gonna stick with it. We reccomand any high schooler to join. Its a great place, it teaches you a lot and will open your eyes.

I am thirteen currently and am battling the two things I wish to do. I want to be a forensic scientist at NCIS or join the Marines. It’s a hard decision for me. I don’t think my parents would approve of me joining the Marines. I love the armed fores. They save us when we truly need it. <3 10 of the men in my family have been or are in the Army or the Marines. 2 have died and I am thankful for what they have done.

You people really should look at what you are saying and who you are jumping on… This guy Jeff never said that he hates what we ( I say we because I am in the Army) are doing… He simply stated that he doesn’t like the military because so many people have died fighting for their country… His statement alone shows that he does have respect for them, you have to actually read into what he said… He said that his friends and family have gotten deployed so I’m sure he has alot of gratitude for what we do… People shouldn’t be so quick to join a mob and attack someone just because they read what someone else wrote and they think that person is right… Furthermore as army cav said, we fight for people, everyone, so that they may have the freedom to speak their minds and to openly discuss their opinions. Don’t try to take away what we fight so hard for and sacrifice so much to attain…. Everyone should calm down…

My brother-in-law deployed today and it was so hard to see him leave his family and friends behind. However, he is already a hero in my eyes. You can hate the war, Jeff, not the soldiers.

jeff its not the army u should hate its the ppl who started this we did nothing wrong ppl sat in there cubicals at work while they watched to co workers die, ppl sat at home to watch on tv that someones son, daughter, mother, father, brother ,sister etc fall to death. so its not the military you should hate its the basterds that tor ppls lives apart! I have lost a dear friend over there and truely miss him but hes is a true hero bc even tho he hates the one who started this he still was brave enough to fight for this country , most ppl have one hero i have many , my husband , 2 brothers, father, n father n law, and sister have all been or is currently over there fighting to protect ppl like you so that you can walk into stores, go to work , drive your car and know that your not gonna die! i think you should honestyly take the time to thank a military person not once but twice. Thanks to all our troops god bless you and your familys!

Ladies, Gents

Jeff is entitled to his opinions; rightly or wrongly the wars in Afgan and Iraq continue- I served with Royal Marines as a medic in first Gulf war, and suffer from it, but it is refreshing to hear so many say such positive things about our military, and I am proud to have served with US forces and have many friends because of it. Courage is two ways though- so Jeff, reconsider your thoughts, but stay true to your beliefs, but dont ever write something negative about your countries greatest attribute, doing the right thing

jeff im 18 year old female and in the army. its the best choice i have ever made in my whole 18 years ov living, my dad got killed over in afghanistan and i go there on my 19th birthday this year, 18th march i fly out. im not just doung it for my dad im doing it for my country, you try doing something good with your life and then come back and say its stupid!

jeff your ____ for thinking so little of the army. how about you send yerself out there and then you will realize how to honor the men/women out there fighting for our country to keep the things we have! i totally and completly agree with Nicole. me being a sister of an army soldier . you disgust me jeff! you can sit there and bash mouth the soldiers but you know what they are the reason you can sit there and talk “FREELY” even though you want to be an ignorant man and tlk down apon the soldiers that gave thier life for you!! and you honestly dont even deserve it. so how about you go out there and fight and come back and see if you say the same thing i GUARENTEE you will change your stage of thought! you sicken me!

My boyfriend just left for basic training about a week ago. If this is this tough I can only imagine what its going to be like when he gets depolied.

And Jeff.. you just dont have the guts to risk your life. Coward.
