I’m sorry if this sounds rude or mean: but all you people who are freaking out about basic, basic is the easiest one to send your lover off to. The worst that can happen is to be recycled. This is my boyfriend’s second deployment since we have been dating. It sucks, and the military owning him took time to get use to. You’re freaking out about basic, there are gonna be times where you have plans and they have to cancel because they have military duty or something. It’s not fun, but you have to support them. Sending them off to war is the hardest thing. But my boyfriend flips out on me when i tell him it’s stupid he has to go for so long and so far. He loves his job, and that is his job. So basically in summary: for those who cannot stand that their lover is at basic, you may want to reconsider because deployment is much worse.

What people need to remember is that the right to openly state your opinion is EXACTLY what our soldiers are fighting to defend on A DAILY BASIS! Hooah!

i am 17 and i’ve been in the army for 7 months.. It’s hard don’t get me wrong but i love what i do.. i’m in the same unit as my dad.. and i had to beg him just to sign the paper since i’m underage. i have a brother who is currently in iraq. and a bf getting deployed there soon. And jeff you have a right to say what you want to say. but i don’t think it’s worthless. People give their lives fighting for this countries freedom and i’m so thankful for that. I wouldn’t change any of my decisions.. i mean don’t get me wrong there are times that i second guess myself but i wouldn’t change it for the world..

I want to go into the army so bad but im only sixteen, i envy everyone out there who is in the military and am disapointed in whoever disses the army i live the U.S.A and want so badly to serve my country. please tell me what it is like the military has been my life its all i want to do.

You and I are in the same position. Two months ago I got into a relationship with my boyfriend who was sent to bootcamp in Illinois. I turned 17 this past February, he turns 19 this coming august. We had already known eachother for a year but he was in a relationship with someone else. I knew what I was going to be going through knowing he would be gone for 6 months but I honestly never even had a single clue about what my emotions would be like. As the date came closer and closer we spent every day with eachother for as long as we could. The day he flew out I thought would be the hardest day for me, yes it was extremely difficult to watch him leave but it’s even harder to not to think about him being gone for 5 more months. I had no idea it would be this difficult but I am so absolutely and 100% proud of him and what he’s doing- shoot I’m even proud of all the service men and women. I don’t think I would have the courage to do it. They fight for our freedom so we don’t have to, and they aren’t even forced to! Everyday he has been gone I miss him so much more but i’ve realized the more days and months that go by-they may seem like they are taking forever but just remember, you’re that much closer to getting to see them again even if it’s only for a few minutes. And to our service men and women, THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!!! <3

My fiance is in the Army, we’ve been together for almost 13 months and i have to say its one of the hardest things i’ve ever done. he is currently stationed here in the US and had a 4 day this weekend for mothers day and came home he just left about 3 hours ago and I am having a hard time being ok.. He makes me fall so in love with him with every text message, phone call and when i see him. I cannot wait for him to be done with his 3 years, that may sound like I dont care, but thats not it at all. I support him more then anyone i’ve been for him through everything, we’ve gone through every step of the military together. I just want him to be done so he doesn’t have to leave and never be here and I want us to start our lives together. I can’t wait to marry him! He starts paperwork November of 2012 which is the time we’re getting married. I cannot wait! For all of you others here that need support I’m on facebook and Expierence Projects- illalwaysbehere.

u know jeff when i read your comments im like wtf kid u dont know nothing, but then i read others to and i realize that he still has the right to say that. Im joining the army, shipping out to Basic on august 2nd 2011, cav scout wooot. i do agree with him up to a point that this is a dumb war and we should get out but i do respect this great country and jeff just because what they are fighting is dumb doesnt mean they are
just remember dont hate the player (soldiers) hate the game (war, and im not saying war is a game). god bless all those who have died for this country and to all soldiers who have died for there countrys and i respect those still fighting
